About Pomodoro Timer
What Is the Pomodoro Technique?
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It's beautifully simple: you work in focused 25-minute intervals (called "pomodoros," Italian for tomatoes — named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer Cirillo used as a student), separated by short 5-minute breaks. After four pomodoros, you take a longer break of 15–30 minutes.
This rhythm helps you maintain deep focus, combat procrastination, and avoid mental fatigue. Millions of people around the world — students, developers, writers, designers, and anyone who needs to get things done — use the Pomodoro Technique daily.
Why We Built This Tool
We wanted a Pomodoro timer that's dead simple. No accounts to create. No apps to download. No upsells, no ads, no distractions. Just open the page and start focusing.
Most productivity tools demand your email before you can even try them. They push subscriptions, track your behavior, and clutter the experience with features you don't need. We think a timer should be a timer — and nothing more.
So we built PomodoroTimer.cn: a clean, free, no-strings-attached focus timer that works in any browser, on any device.
Features
- Customizable Timer: Set your own focus duration, short break, and long break intervals. The classic 25/5/15 is just the starting point — adjust to what works for you.
- Task List: Keep a running list of what you're working on. Add, complete, and clear tasks right inside the timer. No separate to-do app needed.
- Dark Mode: Easy on the eyes, whether you're working late at night or just prefer a darker interface. Toggle between light and dark themes with one click.
- Keyboard Shortcuts: Start, pause, and reset the timer without touching your mouse. Stay in the flow.
- 14 Languages: English, 中文, Español, Français, Deutsch, 日本語, 한국어, Português, Русский, Italiano, Nederlands, Polski, Türkçe, and العربية — pick the one you're most comfortable with.
- Browser Notifications: Get alerted when a focus session or break ends, even if you've switched to another tab.
- Local Storage: Your timer settings, tasks, and theme preference are saved automatically in your browser. Come back anytime and pick up right where you left off — nothing is ever sent to a server.
Our Philosophy
PomodoroTimer.cn is guided by a few simple principles:
- Free forever. No "free trial," no "Pro tier," no lock-away features. Everything we offer is free, now and always.
- No accounts. You shouldn't need to sign up to use a timer. No email, no password, no social login — just open the page and go.
- No tracking. We don't use analytics, we don't serve ads, and we don't collect any data. What you do with your timer is your business.
- Just a timer that works. We resist feature bloat. Every feature we add must genuinely help you focus — if it doesn't, it doesn't belong.
